Sentinel Rock overlooks the Snake River and the Palouse at their confluence.

Nearby is Marmes Rockshelter where I worked as an archeologist many years ago.  Here is where I learned to read the Book of Earth, as the Stratigrapher documenting the dig until it was flooded.  It’s still the oldest continuously occupied site ever excavated in North America. It’s a place of many special memories of place, time, and people.

A gift to my sister Barb, in return for the trip she and my other sister Beth planned to take me on for my first painting roadtrip after my brain injury. I was to ill to go so they went and took pictures for me of the places I wanted to visit.
