I learned a long time ago that my job to see where energy is coming from, and to be receptive and responsive to that energy. It’s not my job, and I don’t waste my time quibbling about it, to define and defend the esthetics and philosophy of that energy. During the very dark days early in my recovery I used to write in my log “take whatever is available” and it is as true now as it was then. I understand ‘take on fuel for the road whenever and wherever that fuel is made available to you’.
This is a very quick sketch in chalk from a photograph posted by one of the artists on a Facebook page I follow; Figure Art for Artists. This posting artist is also a model in this wonderful image. Thank you, Ashley, for your permission to post this.
It struck immediately me as fitting right into the preliminary studied and designs I have been developing for a large combination painting and sculpture—“The 10th Spring”. That was the name when I thought I would have the wherewithal to present it in Spring of 2017. That didn’t happen. So now I’m calling it “The 11th Spring” in expectation that I will be able to bring it off. This figure will be in the lower 1/3—about the generative and flowering Life emerging form the Earth
